Alabama virtual public high school options

ACCESS is the distance education program for high school students provided by the Alabama State Department of Education.

  • There is no additional cost for these classes. They are part of the Alabama public school system.
  • Students remain registered at their local school.
  • Students may take as few as one class or as many as all classes through ACCESS.
  • Students can continue to participate in sports and extracuricular activities with their local school.
  • All ACCESS courses are taught by highly qualified, experienced teachers that hold Alabama certification in their content areas

Why would someone choose ACCESS?

Some of the possible reasons include: scheduling conflicts, taking a course not offered face-to-face (including Advanced Placement courses and foreign languages), making up a missed credit, trying a different style of learning, or improving technology skills.

ACCESS Virtual Learning (Alabama Connecting Classrooms, Educators, and Students Statewide) provides online class options for Alabama public high school students. Some middle school classes are available. Additional information may be found at http://accessdl.state.al.us
