In an effort to reach as many Irondale residents as possible with updates regarding library services, and city news, we have copied the library newsletter to this JCLC mailing list. This will not happen regularly. 

Library Services

during the Covid-19 closure

  • Staff are available by phone & email Monday through Friday 9 am – 4 pm: 205.951.1415 or librarian@irondalelibrary.org.
  • Free public WiFi is accessible from the parking spaces immediately surrounding the library
  • All Services in the digital library are available 24/7
  • Story Time has moved online to Facebook!

Have you responded? Libraries, fire departments, schools, roads and highways: the census can shape the future of Irondale.

Tax deadlines extended

The IRS and Alabama Dept. of Revenue have extended tax deadlines to July 15.

There is a lot of information- some accurate, some not, on the internet about Covid-19. The following resources will give you accurate, up-to-date, information to help you plan and prepare.

Story Time!

Story time has gone online! Join Miss Tamara on Monday and Wednesday at 10:00 at www.facebook.com/irondalepubliclibrary  (no Facebook account needed). She will read one of her favorite picture books and share a simple activity using supplies you probably have at home, or no supplies at all.

Access digital movies, TV shows,  music, eBooks, comic books, and audiobooks with Hoopla. For Irondale residents. Now through 4/30- Bonus Borrows! This list of more than 1,100 top titles will be FREE to Libraries - PLUS each Patron will be debited ZERO Borrows when they borrow any of the included titles!

Kanopy

Everyone from film scholars to casual viewers will discover remarkable and enriching films on Kanopy.  For Irondale residents.

Mango

Mango offers more than 70 languages including Spanish, English, Italian, Russian and Mandarin Chinese. For Irondale residents.

The New York Times

Enjoy complimentary access to The New York Times digital edition. Access is available through the web and through The New York Times mobile apps. The crossword puzzle is not included.
