Irondale Library update on Covid-19 closure and available services

 Irondale Library closed to the public due to Covid-19 

Irondale Public Library leadership and Board of Trustees have been closely monitoring announcements issued by local, state and national health agencies. In light of these recommendations, the Irondale Public Library has temporarily closed to the public. 

All programs and meetings scheduled for the remainder of March are canceled. Updates will be posted as needed to our website and Facebook page. 

Available resources:

  • Online Library Services available 24/7: Libby, Hoopla, Kanopy, and more
  • Online Learning Services also available: Homework Alabama, Mango Languages, and more
  • Staff are on duty Monday - Friday 9:00 am - 4:00 pm to answer your questions and help you find information. Call 205-951-1415 or email Librarian@irondalelibrary.org
  • Free public wi-fi is available from the parking areas immediately surrounding the library
  • To place holds or manage your account, use the mobile app or online catalog

Please Note

  • No fines will be charged during this closure
  • Bookdrops are CLOSED- please keep all checked-out items until we reopen
  • Items on hold at the Irondale Library will remain at the library until the libraries re-open. We are not recieving van deliveries from other libraries at this time
  • All items will have a tentative due date of April 15
  • Library cards that expire during the closure will be renewed
