Verna Gates will vist Irondale Public Library October 6
The Friends of Irondale Public Library invite you to an evening with author Verna Gates. Verna Gates has worked for TIME magazine, The Guardian, and was one of the original 50 employees of CNN. Her writing has won numerous awards including a lifetime achievement award from the National Federation of Presswomen. In 2006, Gates founded Fresh Air Family (www.freshairfamily.org), a state-wide organization dedicated to outdoor education. Copies of the book will be for sale. Registration is not required. This event is free. The Friends of IPL is a 501 c3 organization that supports the library with advocacy, volunteering, and donations. New members are always welcomed. From I-20 East bound, take Grants Mill Rd exit 133. Take a left at the exit. At the Highway 78 traffic light, go straight. At the second stop sign, the library is on the right. From I-20 West bound, take US-78 W/Crestwood Blvd in Irondale exit 133. At bottom of exit take a left onto Highway 78. At next traffic light turn right onto 20th Street South. At the second stop sign, the library is on the right. |
