Griffin, a veteran performer, has played in venues across the Southeast. Since 2013, he has led George Griffin and the Firebirds, a Birmingham blues band. Football 101 for Non-Players: Learning to Talk the Talk...or at Least Understand It Springville Road Regional Branch Library, August 9, 6:30 p.m. When you don't know a wideout from a tight end or a wishbone from a shotgun, it's hard to know what's going on in football—and impossible to discuss it intelligently. Coach Bobby Johns and friends will translate all that "commentator talk" into plain English. This is perfect for folks who love the game and would like to know more about common plays and the role of specific position players.

Registration Open For August 2016 Classes Registration is now open for staff and the public for free computer classes offered by the Central Library for August. Basic PC, Excel 2010, Hiring Process for Jefferson County, as well as the popular downloadables class are being offered. All classes are held in the Regional Library Computer Center on the fourth floor of the Linn Henley Research Library. Pre-registration is required for all classes. | Books & Materials | New TV Shows Test Limits of Competitors This has been a fun and exciting summer of television. I have been a fan of American Ninja Warrior for several years now, but this year, the networks have taken the competition shows up a notch. I have added two new team competition shows, American Grit and Spartan Ultimate Team Challenge, to my list of favorites and hope they will return next year.
