Military records are a great place to learn about an individual’s military service and can provide genealogical information. Many genealogical lineage societies, such as the Sons and Daughters of the American Revolution, are tied to an ancestor’s military service. Book Review: Mont-Saint-Michel and Chartres Henry Adams was the grandson of President John Quincy Adams. He became the preeminent American historian of his day and was friends with many of America’s most distinguished men: Henry James and Theodore Roosevelt’s great Secretary of State John Hay.
