My library card was my key to the world.” -- John Goodman, actor Because of your friendship and generous support, the Jefferson County Library Cooperative’s (JCLC) “one county, one library card” system has opened up the world to individuals and families throughout our community. Thank you! JCLC, on behalf of its 40 participating Jefferson County libraries and the individuals that we serve, respectfully request an end-of-year gift to help us celebrate our 35th Anniversary. Help us celebrate this amazing milestone! In 2013, JCLC and the Public Libraries of Jefferson County will celebrate thirty-five (35) years as a library cooperative. In our 35 years of service, JCLC, the Public Libraries of Jefferson County and you (our supporters) have established a critical educational service wheel for citizens of this county. JCLC is the hub of this wheel with each library serving as one of the spokes, and you are the resource that helps keep us turning. JCLC and the 40 participating public libraries serve our community as “1” cooperative, and as a result, each library is stronger and able to offer a greater number of services to local members, including you. The services possible because of JCLC include: Access to over 2 million items—including printed books, downloadable audio-books and eBooks, DVDs and music. Utilization of any of the 40 libraries and their individual services—educational programs, destination sites for meetings or events, arts and cultural venues, etc. Internet availability at all locations. Research databases and print and online resource materials. Access to the Alabama Virtual Library and Homework Alabama. Delivery Service guaranteeing members have access to all materials at any of the participating libraries. Books-by Mail thus ensuring the disabled/homebound can access services.
